Which button changes the scene?

Evidence checked November 3, 2026 · PC Demo

The short answer

The developer identifies the lower-left functions as game speed, screenshot, daytime and grass theme; the upper-right book opens the library. They are not all available in every version: Photo Mode is explicitly described as Demo Locked. If a button says Time of Day but changes the grass, the developer acknowledged that label mistake in the Demo.

Checked November 3, 2026. The icon explanation comes from a July22 development reply, with the grass-label correction and Photo Mode boundary in October Demo discussions. Use the labels and locks in your installed build; the old list is not a guarantee that every button is enabled there. These are sourced instructions and decisions, not our own gameplay test.

Match the function to what you want to change

You want to…Developer’s function/locationCheck first
Change the scene’s daytimeDaytime control in the lower-left groupA separate grass-theme control once had the same incorrect label.
Change the grass appearanceGrass-theme control in that groupGrass changing does not establish a season change or color-filter system.
Change game speedSpeed-up functionThis changes simulation speed, rather than camera zoom or daytime appearance. No exact multiplier is established here.
Take a game screenshotScreenshot/Photo Mode functionFull-game feature described as Demo Locked; no export-folder path is established.
Read collected book contentBook at the upper right opens the libraryThe fuller letters-and-books story was described for the full game.
Hide the base grid while buildingTop-right button within the shopThis is inside the shop, separate from the upper-right library book.

The building shop and the open-market toolbar are different contexts. In the reviewed Demo, opening the market replaces the preparation shop with market-view controls. If you are looking for an object’s Resource or Upgrade panel, return to Select mode in preparation.

Time of Day changes grass instead?

An October3 player reported that the grass button was labelled Time of Day; TheLaba confirmed the label was wrong and would be fixed. That explains why an older Demo can appear to have two daytime controls with different results.

  1. Identify whether you want a lighting/daytime change or a ground-theme change.
  2. Use the corresponding visible control and inspect what changes in the scene: the grass surface or the daytime presentation.
  3. If the label and result disagree, compare your Demo build with the dated report. Do not keep changing unrelated market settings to repair a known label problem.

The same reply treats more color control and seasons as suggestions. It does not confirm a winter toggle, exact palette slider, automatic seasons or a reliable sequence of clicks to obtain a particular sky. Changing visual daytime is also not proof that your market has opened; check the top Open Market/Close Market label.

Photo Mode and the book have separate limits

The developer says Photo Mode is in the full game and locked in the Demo. If that is the button displaying Demo Locked, repeatedly completing the tutorial or adding decorations is not an established way to unlock it. Use the Demo/full-game comparison to identify other deliberately unavailable features.

The upper-right book is described as a library for completed books made from collected pages. Later developer explanations describe letters that gradually complete books and reveal the world’s story. Read what the story/library statement means before expecting a full Demo campaign or following an invented page-location route.

For placement, use the shop’s grid control

The developer identifies an existing hide/show base-grid button at the top-right of the shop. Toggle it to make the placement reference easier to see; it is not a switch that removes road or entrance requirements.

Use building controls for R rotation, Q/E zoom, Select and Delete. Use water and path decoration when the question concerns where an object can sit. Keeping those functions separate helps avoid deleting an object while trying to change the view.

Check the effect, not just the icon

You can distinguish scene daytime, grass, simulation speed, Photo Mode, library and shop grid. If a specific control remains unavailable or mislabelled, keep its label, market phase and build number when describing the problem.

No exact icon order for every build, screenshot save path, speed multiplier or season/filter control is inferred.
